2005 - 2006 Goals
Electoral
- Choice Voting/Proportional Representation campaign in Scottsdale, AZ for 2006
- Running 3 to 5 candidates for school board in 2006 elections
- Green Party voter registration campaign—increasing registered Greens in Maricopa County by 300 voters by December 2005; increase of 800 voters by December 2006
- Electoral reform issues (Clean Elections, etc)
Issue Based
- Organize Green Party “sponsored” events (example: Fiesta Monsoon)
- Organize “Fiesta Monsoon 2005”—September 2005
- Organize free Earth Day event—Phoenix Earth Day 2006 (April 22nd) at Phoenix South Mountain Park?
- Participate in other (non-Green sponsored) public events (example: World Fair Trade Day)
- World Fair Trade Day 2006 forum—Saturday, May 13th, 2006
- Work with the Gentle Strength Cooperative & urban farmers/community-supported agriculture (CSAs) for a community-based economics campaign
- Organize campaign on “hot-button” issue that Greens will “champion” (example: defend Social Security; national health care; Clean Green Energy campaign, etc)
GPMC Internal
- Eighty-five (85) “active” members (5%) of the 1700+ registered Greens in Maricopa County by December 2005
- Increasing membership & increasing participation of people of color, women & youth within GPMC
- Fundraise $3000 budget by December 2005; fundraise $6000 budget by December 2006
- Increase publicity of GPMC through press releases, public interest stories, press conferences, letters to the editor, interviews on radio, television, newspaper, etc
